BiTiBi is a project funded by the European Union and will last from 2014-17. The project is focused on increasing liveability in European cities as well as reducing congestion and C02 emissions by performing projects that focus on modern, sustainable transport forms and, more importantly, combining them.
For the past three years, ten European partners (in six European countries) have been developing bike+train+bike intermodality in Europe through the implementation of pilot projects in Belgium, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Best practices from the Netherlands for bike-train mobility provided a strong and inspirational model to make these projects successful.
The final conference on bike-train-bike will be in Utrecht on March 7th, 2017. There will be a visit to the Netherlands’ largest indoor bike parking facility.
